Satellite Phone Rental FAQs - Deposits & Refunds
How do deposits work?
All satellite equipment rentals must be secured by a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) for the duration of your rental in the following amounts:
Hughes 9202 BGAN - $1200
Inmarsat Isatphone Pro - $350
Iridium 9555 - $500
Iridium 9575 Extreme - $500
Iridium 9575 Extreme - $500
Thrane & Thrane BGAN Explorer 500 - $1000
Thuraya XT Lite - $500
Thuraya XT Dual - $800
The deposit requirement is waived for all government agencies and accredited educational institutions.
When is the deposit charged?
The deposit is charged to your card the day the phone is shipped out / picked up.
International Renters
All rentals to non-Canadian residents are charged a deposit equal to the full value of the equipment rented. We also require a copy of current government issued ID as well as a copy of both sides of the credit card used to secure the rental.
When will I get a refund?
Once the rental phone is returned, we will deduct all rental, airtime, shipping and incidental charges and refund the balance to your credit card within 2-3 business days. You will receive an email with an updated invoice detailing all your charges.
Please note: detailed usage reports are not available on Canada / Alaska rentals.
